Meet Mikayla Christen,
I am a 16 year old junior in high school, Founder and CEO of the Books Beyond Organization.
One of my greatest joys is getting lost in a book. I realized that not everybody gets to experience the same fulfillment a book can produce. I wanted to make a difference and impact change in other children's lives.

Books Beyond Organization serves as a global ambassador for literacy to marginalized and disparaged communities around the world. My main focus is sourcing, collecting and distributing books to communities beyond our borders. My first project is building out a library in my grandmother's community in Jamaica.

Books Beyond is a non profit Organization, spurred from my love for reading. I amassed such a large collection of books through the years and was quickly running out of storage space. I had the idea to donate my books, I started with local areas, but wanted to do more than reach my immediate community. As a child of an immigrant parent

I had the idea to donate my books, I started with local areas, but wanted to do more than reach my immediate community. As a child of an immigrant parent, I was touched by my grandmother's stories of literacy needs still existing in a small community she grew up in Jamaica. I wanted to form a connection and make a difference by providing access to books and inspiring others to fall in love with reading.
